Krispy Kremes

Went past a Krispy Kreme the other day. They are having a Chocolate Celebration. Krispy Kreme donuts enrobed in chocolate enticed me. Despite KK having "jumped the shark"...

and they have a frequent donut-er card.

Like my new hat?

Daddy got me a new hat. It's almost spring here. I have to protect my cute little nose from the UV . What do you think? Will I pass for a Crocodile Hunter? Wait...what's a crocodile? I thought that was an alligator...

My pet peeve followed me...

I hate flip-flop. Hate them. They are ugly. They aren't good for your feet. Hate 'em. Probably as much as I hate Crocs.

I was so happy to have NOT seen flip-flops since we've gotten here.

That all changed today at lunch. I saw this:

FLIP FLOPS and NYLONS!!!! I had to take a pic. I hope I wasn't too obvious whipping out my phone and trying to follow this pack of girls...

Walked through Darling Harbour this morning....in search of more pancakes. Somebody loves stuffing his face with pancakes!!!

When we got home, we found rainbows waiting for us. The windows from the balcony cast these awesome rainbows all over the apartment. Andrew pointed out all the colours and loves saying "rainbows".

Walking about...

We took a little walk this morning. It was all in a quest for pancakes. We managed to be at the top of the stairs by this giant egg. Of course, we needed to be on the road below in order to get to the pancakes. Guess who got to carry the stroller all the way down....not me :)
Walked under the Bridge on the way to The Rocks. Found this nice "park" to play in. There were other kiddos playing there too.

Love this pic.

Finally made it to Pancake on the Rocks. Funny Face Pancakes...
yummy :)

Andrew "helping" me peel the orange.

Oh...and Happy Birthday to Daddy...
We love singing Happy Birthday :)

In our own place

We moved into our own apartment this week. We've been shuffling around to different hotels the past 2 weeks. It's been a little trying. Poor little guy keeps saying "home?" whenever we go to a new room. Sorry bub!

Love our location. LOVE. We are at Kings Wharf. Literally across the street from my office. I can lay on my couch and see my building. If I still had the desk by the window, I'd be able to see my desk. Well, if I had binoculars and could see thru glazed windows.

Andrew playing on our balcony. There is glass that tilts out to let the breeze in. The junk is the stuff left from the previous tenant.
Went to the Mongolian BBQ place on the street behind us. It was yummy. Andrew had fun watching the guy cook his food. Wasn't lovin' eating it though. In his defence, we did wake him from his late nap to go eat so he was a little groggy still.

Love it. 5 min commute to work. I get to go home for lunch. I hope Rene realises I can never live further than 5 mins from work anymore...

stake in the heart

Since we are staying in a hotel w/o washer and dryer this weekend, Andrew is wearing disposable/paper/chemical diapers at school. The school provides them, so at least I'm not paying to have that crap on my son's tush.

I swear my heart ached when I got him ready for his bath and saw this
He was in these diapers for less than a day and had a red tushie. Not OMG red, but If he was in these full time it would not be pretty.

Have you ever noticed how these diapers smell? (and I don't mean when dirty) Andrew (luckily) didn't pee in this one, but it still had this very distinct (chemically?) odor.
Thankfully we will be back to normal next week.

Stairway to....

This has got to be the longest escalator I've ever seen. There is another one going up another gazillion steps.

Weekend in North Ryde

Spent the weekend in North Ryde. (don't ask why...it's not a cool, picturesque area of NSW. We basically stayed in the hotel all weekend. Venturing out only to cross the street to go to McD's or KFC...like I said, don't ask....)

So here are some cutie-patootie pics:

yummy ice cream

playing with his phone

sipping some cocoa

Yes, mommy and daddy are aware that someone is loooong overdue for a hair cut. Actually, we all are....

random pics...

Walking home one day, I noticed this little green area under the overpass. I was a peaceful place in the middle of the city. There are some fountains/sprayers from the ceiling (wouldn't it be great if there were reservoirs that held the rainwater and let it drip onto the green areas?).
Ian Thorpe Aquatic Center - gotta get the baby bear swimming there...
Favorite restaurant. Grill'd. It reminds me of MBurger from Chicago. Love the Bird & Brie sandwich. I fail to tell you how often I've eaten there :)

"Ruggy" anyone?

Rene brought home a Rugby ball for Andrew to play with. As you can see, he had fun with his "ruggy" ball.

kicking throwing
catching
scrumming?
and snoozing...

pics are blurry b/c he was moving so quick :)

1st day of school

Andrew has started at Montessori. It is just a block and a half from where Rene and I work. It really seems to be right on par with our "philosophy" on child-rearing.

We road the Monorail to get to school. It was fun had by all...

and coming home... (sorry for the blurry pics. The monorail is a little bumpy.)

leisurely Saturday walk in the park....

Went down to Pyrmont Park today. It was a bit windy by the water, but we still have fun in the SUN.

There were benches with inscriptions on them. A narrative about the native people and what they saw in the harbour. Ended with a perfect pharse...

Perfect place for a picture too.

On the boardwalk...another nice view.

Not the easiest picture to take (to try to get the bridge in).

All the running around in the park really tuckered him out....

It was today that I realized I have an (insane) fear of the water. I was walking on the boardwalk with water on both sides of me when I felt panicy. Seriously? I have a minor in Aquatics. I've been swimming since before I could crawl. How can I fear water?

Early morning thoughts...

So I woke up to this sight at 6:30am.

Someone found mommy's old phone and had not made it his phone (which is fine b/c it has all his games and videos on it anyway). It was so cute to see him playing by himself in the dark. (thank you iPhone flash)

When I opened my Pepsi Max (insert disgusted look b/c it's really nasty), I noticed that it had the old-fashioned looking opening. Remember when the openings used to look like this? Before "big" was in (big-mouths cans, super-size meals, etc)
